Company now reviewing its website, and its place will come a new human-focused approach to selling insurance

Meanwhile this week – Genetic Financial Services – which is trading as GeneInsure, has started marketing its 10% discounts on Truck and Trailer insurance, offered in 3rd party and comprehensive.

In a series of posts on the Sunday Express Truck and Trailer newspaper communities this week, financial engineer Donaldson Chimuti told the 5 million monthly readers in the newspaper that Genetic Financial had intensified the focus on the market for the specialised truck and trailer products, and as such had decided to push ahead with the winter promotions.

“There are thousands of trucks plying the roads of Zimbabwe today, and many are carrying valuable loads in transit. So we are saying get your goods in transit insured easily with GeneInsure – powered by Zimnat. If you insure your trucks, your trailers and your horses with us, you will get your Zinara and licensing disc, and get a gree delivery service within a 40km radius of the Harare CBD within 24 hours,” said Chimuti.


He added: “At GeneIsure we also have all the available payment services cash is accepted but you can also use Ecocash, swipe and the best of it all is that you can also pay on delivery,” said the financial engineer.

The 10% discount was part of a series of new marketing initiatives that the company was rolling out, including the first in Zimbabwe of dial-an-insurance or more simple – whatsapp – and be insured in a few easy steps.

Chimuti said that the Zimnat executive marketing team had attended the Sanlam in-house training in Toronto Canada this week and as such the team was now ready to roll out great new marketing ideas that would take the company to greater heights in marketing and showcasing insurance products for trucks, truckers and others doing business in the freight industry.

On its social media, the insurance company said that it was in pride when offering tailor-made insurance services and solutions to Zimbabweans throughout the country, and those who were doing cross broder truck business.

Zimnat core business service includes corporate insurance, motor, house owner’s, house contents, all risks and personal accident insurance.

“We pride ourselves as pioneers in the provision of innovative, tailor-made and convenient personal insurance products for our clients with a strong customer-focus that permeates throughout all our services.”


Three main areas of product speciality are listed on its website: Motor Insurance, House Building/Home Contents, and Corporate Advisory Services.

From the ground-up, Zimnat said that it was emerging into the market with an altogether different approach to insuring Zimbabwe and Zimbabweans and in understanding that true convenience was only realised when the customer was at the centre of the product.

Its teams on the ground were focused on delivering true value for money, not just with the lowest price in town, but through a seamless, technology-driven customer experience at all our touchpoints.

The company disclosed that it was dismantling its current website and in its place – it was building a website for its products and resorting much to telesales agents. “Due to the nature of the insurance business “insurance is sold, not bought, and as such it required much human involvement,” Chimuti said.
