When it comes to Zimbabwean music, already reputable artistes frequently get more gratitude than their little-known counterparts who have worked much harder by performing in front of huge crowds both locally and internationally.

With this in perception, it is precisely the scenario of multi-talented Zimbabwean Afro-fusion (or African MowTown music as prefers to call it) vocalist and multi-instrumentalist “Simba CI”, whose real name is Simba Charandura.

Simba CI has voyaged republics all over the globe performing in major festivals in countries such as Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Egypt, Russia, South Africa, Hungary, China, Denmark, Greece, Belgium, Botswana, Croatia, Finland, Zambia, Bosnia, Denmark and the Netherlands just to mention a few.

This jaw-dropping outrageous list can make both locally and internationally known artistes covetous as such a feat comes only as a dream to many.

The talented young musician has succeeded to share the stage with a host of fabulous artists including South Africa’s Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Zimbabwe’s late great music guru, Dr Oliver Mtukudzi thereby accumulating vast skill and poise when it comes to live performances in front of thousands of audiences.

The other artistes Charandura has performed alongside on stage include Benjamin Branzko, Deon Made Man, both from Germany, and Jenny Anne, Chris Spiere, and Dave Noe from the USA just to mention a few.

The youthful musician is not only exceptional with his harmonious voice but can play quite a number of instruments. These include the guitar, keyboard, marimba, and djembe drum.

The German-based Zimbabwean artiste unconfined his foremost album in 2018 titled ‘’Changing Chords’’ and managed to sell a howling twenty thousand hard copies to date.

In 2020, he released an additional album titled ‘’Gimme a Chance’’ which has enabled him to work with other artists and producers from the USA, Europe, and Africa, further demonstrating his ability to work with unalike music pioneers in sundry music genres.

Notwithstanding the datum that Charandura’s hard operational ethics have received very diminutive credit than he truly deserves from his home country, Zimbabwe, the German-based singer, songwriter, producer, instrumentalist, and school teacher has fared to win an international award.

It came in 2021 when the American Radio channel, Dories Indies World Wide, bestowed Simba CI with the Gold And Platinum Best New Entry Award for his alliance track with American musicians Jenny Anne and Dave Nore.

Additionally, Simba CI made another collaboration with American producer, Chris Spiere, on the track ‘’Changing Chords’’, a remix song from his first album, which eventually went on to clinch the number 11 spot on The World Indies Top 150 Count Down.

It seems the youthful musician got himself into the history books of international music as his 11th spot entry was the first time ever a newcomer entered the charts on a double digit.

Well, this is evidence enough that Simba CI, is surely destined for greater heights if he continues with his remarkable hard work in the music industry.

Furthermore, it seems the young artist is not slowing down with his stiff work as he is currently travelling all the way from Germany to South Africa for a performance in support of his fellow Zimbabwean musician, Ashton Nyahowa, famously known as “Mbeu”, who is launching an album launch tour in Sandton, South Africa.

Irrevocably, with youthfulness, time, and experience on his side, Simba CI has already left a respectable mark in the music business and hopefully, he gets the recognition he truly deserves for representing his mother nation Zimbabwe and Africa as a whole across the globe.
