Time To Accept That We Are In This Hybrid War, For Years To Come
By Terrence Mwedzi
While the modern war in Ukraine continues and there is no immediate end in sight, Russian President Vladimir Putin recently announced that Moscow would deploy nuclear weapons in Belarus, a strange move that made Western leaders and their allies - especially the United States of America - scratch their heads in disbelief - a giant step by Russia that should be taken seriously.
Russia's efforts to convince the West to stop bombing Ukraine seem to have failed to bear fruits. Putin's constant nuclear threats pose a high risk in the world - and it is the West and its allies that provoke him.
The ties between Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko and Putin have been strengthening over the past few months. And, probably, more nuclear power plants will be built in more countries.
In addition, I would like to point out that a multipolar world is 'rapidly' taking shape, and we are likely to witness the ruthless fall of Western hegemony in the not-so-distant future.
In truth, it will be difficult to erase Russia from the world stage, and Russia's biggest enemy is US.
