The Harare-Mutare highway is arguably one of the busiest roads in Southern Africa. For good reason. That road ‘offloads’ commercial trucking from as far afield as Democratic Republic of Congo, Botswana, Zambia and of course Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, connecting the hinterland to Beira and Maputo for eastbound exports.
My Ruwa hood is a few hundred metres from this road, the exact reason why I initiated a WhatsApp group aptly named ‘Mutare Hiway Community Traffic Group’.
